Vernon Stokoe MBPSs, MNCIP, MCNHC, MNSPsy, MSc, BA, ADCH, PsyDip
My background is in Art, Psychology and Philosophy. I have a BA in Fine Art, MSc in Psychology and continued to progress my study in Psychotherapy and Hypnotherapy at the Surrey College of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy, local of Surrey University, gaining a further 8 Qualifications.
I also have a personal interest in Philosophy, particularly Zazen, which I feel aids my ability as a therapist.
I am an integrative therapist, using mixed modalities, although my predominant way of working is Person-Centred. I believing that you are the one who has the answers, meaning that you can gain clarity, growth and self compassion from having support in therapy.
I find that using art materials within some sessions can be highly productive, allowing the mind to relax and become more comfortable and creative within therapy, which I discovered can compliment your growing ability to find your ultimate lucidity.
There are many reasons why people choose to begin therapy, and there is no wrong reason, only good intentions, and that's a great place to start.
A space away from your everyday, giving you time to express can be beneficial to your overall wellbeing at the same time as forming a better future for yourself.
I'm here to work with you in the way that works for you, so my approach is adaptive and will reflect where you are at each stage of your journey, and allow you to explore the paths that suit you.
I also offer Relationship Counselling to couples who are looking to improve communication, speak through difficult topics and work towards gaining an increasingly healthy relationship. (See Relationship Counselling).
