Dialectical Behavior Therapy

What Is DBT?

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based psychotherapy, which was initially developed to treat personality disorders and interpersonal conflicts. Evidence suggests that DBT can be effective in treating mood disorders, Anxiety disorders, ADHD symptoms, Depression, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD / EUPD), and suicidal ideation. It's useful for changing behavioral patterns such as self-harm and substance use.

DBT is a valuable set of principles & hands on tools to help highly emotionally sensitive individuals feel more in control, work with themseves to gain self-respect & empowerment, to look at and work through resistance, to ultimately "Build a Life Worth Living” - Dr. Linehan (creater of DBT).

As DBT is a powerful set of evidence-based tools to help people in crisis (or reoccurring crisis) to develop a better life, it has also been shown to be highly affective with people who want to change behaviour that no longer serves them.
